1) I believe that racial and ethnic diversity is important at Syracuse University?
A. Yes B. No
Yes
2)How diverse do you think Syracuse campus is based on scale of 1-10, 1 being the lowest and 10 being the highest?
3
3) Are you involved with any clubs that deal with race and ethnicity?
Yes I’m a member of the Wells Link mentoring program
I am the president of the multicultural learning community if that counts
4) Have you ever heard of the class “Intergroup Dialogue”?
Nope
5) Have you heard of the website USARiseUp.com?
Nope
6) Have you ever been involved in an event on campus which involves a different ethnicity other than your own?
Yes I’ve been on a multicultural retreat
7) What are your thoughts about Syracuse being the 8th most segregated school in the nation?
I wouldn’t doubt that statement. You don’t even have to attend the University to realize this.
Just spend a day on campus and that is clear.
8)Do you believe that is true? Why or why not?
I do believe this is true. It shows in the way the students live and interact with each other on campus. They eat in groups, study in groups, hang out, walk to class, traveling to and fro places. Its really divided here and easy to fall into the segregated system.
9)There are 8 other schools that have a similar race and ethnicity class here at Syracuse, what you believe that says about our nation’s agenda and focus on race and ethnicity?
I believe it says its not high on the nations to do list. America is sadly comfortable with segregation. They might not come out and say it but not
